The History of Oakwood Academy
1963 – Ballet classes commenced by Mrs Pyatt in a private house in Oakwood Road, Chandlers Ford.
Classes were then taken over by Mrs Diana Mills and moved to local halls in the Chandlers Ford area.
1980 – Miss Beverley introduced Modern, Tap and Jazz classes for Diana at Oakwood Academy.
1988 - Miss Beverley, the current principle, started to run Oakwood Academy with the children appearing in local venues producing small revue shows.
1999 – Oakwood Academy moved to their own studio in Shaftesbury Avenue, Chandlers Ford.
2006 – Oakwood Academy moved back into halls in Chandlers Ford.
2013 – Oakwood Academy celebrates its 50th Anniversary. A reunion was organised for all past and present students of Oakwood Academy and their families.
